Health, Safety & Security (HSS) is integral to how we design and deliver programs. Our approach emphasizes thoughtful preparation, experienced leadership, and ongoing support, ensuring that learning takes place in a well-considered and cared-for environment across India and Nepal.
Read MoreYes. We support credit-bearing program design by aligning experiential activities, fieldwork, and reflection with institutional learning outcomes. Credit structures, contact hours, and assessment frameworks are developed in collaboration with the home institution and aligned with academic expectations.
Our process begins with understanding your academic objectives, discipline, and student cohort. From there, we design a program that integrates site-based learning, expert engagement, and reflection, while remaining responsive to context and logistics. Programs are reviewed and refined collaboratively to ensure academic coherence and on-the-ground feasibility.
Community-Based Learning emphasizes ethical, reciprocal engagement with local communities. Rather than short-term or transactional interactions, programs are built around long-term relationships that prioritize dignity, local knowledge, and meaningful participation within real social and cultural contexts.
We recommend beginning conversations 6–12 months in advance, particularly for credit-bearing programs. This allows sufficient time for academic alignment, approvals, logistical planning, and student preparation. Shorter timelines may be possible depending on program scope and availability.
Program timing depends on region, theme, and academic calendar. In general, October–March and May–July work well for many parts of India and Nepal, while specific regions and themes may require more tailored timing. We advise on optimal travel windows during the design process.
International airfares and visa costs are typically not included, allowing institutions and participants flexibility in departure locations and travel arrangements. Guidance and support are provided as part of the pre-departure process.
Domestic transportation within India and Nepal is generally included when it forms part of the program itinerary. Specific inclusions are clarified during the program design and budgeting process.
The earlier the better. Early engagement allows for thoughtful program design, academic alignment, and smoother institutional processes. Even if plans are at an exploratory stage, we’re happy to begin the conversation.
