This program explores rural adaptation in semi-arid landscapes where water scarcity, commons governance, pastoralism, and migration intersect.

Students begin with seminars on Sustainable Livelihoods Framework, commons theory, and migration economics. Workshops introduce participatory rural appraisal methods and ethical interviewing.

Field immersion includes watershed institutions, water harvesting structures, pastoral livelihood observation, migration narratives, and craft/agricultural market mapping.

The synthesis phase integrates ecological, economic, and institutional analysis into a measurable proposal.
