Urban Governance & Rural Systems in Maharashtra
Urban Governance & Rural Systems in Maharashtra
This program examines governance across one of India’s most complex state ecosystems, beginning in Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, and extending into rural Maharashtra’s decentralized governance structures.
Students study municipal systems, housing and informal settlements, cooperative institutions, rural Panchayats, agricultural economies, and district-level service delivery.
The design emphasizes comparative governance: how policies operate differently across dense metropolitan environments and rural administrative contexts ,revealing trade-offs in equity, growth, accountability, and public finance.
Students will:

-

-

-

-
