Delhi Policy and Hospital Systems Lens
Delhi Policy and Hospital Systems Lens
This program situates mental health within national policy architecture and large-scale hospital systems. Students explore the National Mental Health Programme and District Mental Health Programme frameworks, safeguarding standards, tele-mental health scale, and community access challenges across Delhi and the NCR region.
The design connects macro policy structures with lived implementation realities. Students examine how national strategy becomes hospital workflow, district outreach, referral chains, and digital infrastructure. The program emphasizes ethical observational practice, institutional literacy, and systems mapping.
Students will:
-
Interpret NMHP and DMHP policy architecture, including financing, governance layers, and service integration.
-
Analyze patient pathways from primary consultation to tertiary referral within urban systems.
-
Examine stigma, affordability, and urban inequality as structural determinants of access.
-
Evaluate tele-mental health scale models and digital access infrastructure.
-
Compare biomedical, psychosocial, and community-based mental health interventions using evidence-aligned language.
-
Ask: Where do policy ambition and implementation capacity diverge in large metropolitan systems?
-
Produce a structured policy and systems analysis memo supported by ecosystem mapping.
