Industrial Strategy Lab: Clusters, Competitiveness, and Policy
Industrial Strategy Lab: Clusters, Competitiveness, and Policy
This immersive program begins in Mumbai, examining financial capital, corporate governance, and investment ecosystems that enable industrial expansion.
Students then transition to the Pune industrial corridor, where manufacturing clusters reveal how policy incentives translate into production systems, supply-chain networks, labor markets, and export pathways.
The program concludes in Delhi with policy analysis sessions that connect field observation to national industrial strategy and global competitiveness debates.
Students will:
-
Examine firm-level responses to industrial incentives.
-
Conduct supply-chain mapping within a manufacturing cluster.
-
Analyze productivity constraints across infrastructure, labor, and logistics.
-
Evaluate Make in India and PLI policy design against implementation realities.
-
Ask: What determines whether a manufacturing cluster becomes globally competitive?
-
Produce a “Cluster Competitiveness Briefing” integrating policy and production analysis.
