Indo-Pacific Strategy & Maritime Order
Indo-Pacific Strategy & Maritime Order
This 13-day academic immersion introduces students to the foundations of security studies and then progressively applies theory to regional case analysis.
The New Delhi phase builds conceptual grounding in levels of analysis, deterrence theory, alliance systems, border governance, and Indo-Pacific strategic narratives. Students engage in seminars, policy reading labs, and expert dialogues.
The maritime module, hosted in a major port city, examines Indian Ocean security architecture, piracy typologies, trafficking networks, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Students conduct structured data literacy workshops using publicly available incident reporting systems.
Returning to New Delhi, students participate in scenario-based crisis simulations and a policy writing lab, culminating in a structured security briefing.
Students will:
-
Distinguish between tactical, operational, and strategic levels of analysis.
-
Interpret maritime crime data and piracy trend reporting responsibly.
-
Analyze Indo-Pacific strategic competition and partnership architectures.
-
Examine India–China border stabilization and crisis management mechanisms.
-
Apply escalation control frameworks to simulated regional scenarios.
-
Produce a concise, evidence-based security policy memo.
