Urban Documentary and Public Discourse Lab
Urban Documentary and Public Discourse Lab
This program begins in Mumbai with an intensive ethics and methodology bootcamp. Participants examine documentary as research method, building consent frameworks, interview design protocols, confidentiality safeguards, and risk assessment matrices.
Field inquiry unfolds in Mumbai’s urban media and institutional landscape, where participants conduct story scouting, contextual research, and supervised interviews (permissions-based). Daily debriefs assess bias, power dynamics, and narrative framing.
The program transitions to Pune for a comparative institutional lens—examining education, civil society, and community storytelling ecosystems. Participants conclude with structured editing studios and peer-review workshops, producing academically rigorous documentary files.
Participants will:
-
